How to Leave a Rant

SprintRants.com is an open sounding page to let you release all that built up tention you have after you get done dealing with a sprint “customer service” representative. What is a rant you ask?

rant: a loud bombastic declamation expressed with strong emotion

Be loud, be bombastic, rant, don’t rave, and tell us all what you think about SprintPCS and Sprints customer service. Do you have a cell phone and dial *2 with them same distaste in your mouth as I do. If you do then leave a rant or comment on someone elses rant. Sprint has no way of knowing who left what so be real.

  1. My phone was recently acting up, not receiving calls not calling out, dropping every single call, etc, etc. I was unable to get the free phone upgrade credit that sprint offers even though my phone was 3 years old. I changed phones about 8 months back to try another and that somehow restarted the time they count from.

Well, I searched everywhere for a phone that was cheap but wasn?t going to fall apart. I finally found a phone that had all of the features I wanted and was only $50 more than Sprint?s cheapest phone. It was the new ESPN phone and only available at Best Buy. Trouble was I found it 3 weeks ago and the phone wasn?t being released until the Super Bowl. True Sprint fashion to advertise something they don?t have.

My plan was to wait it out. I wouldn?t have to talk on the phone and I could get a new phone with all the features I wanted. Reading the small print I noticed the $250 price tag was only good until Jan. 28 while the Super Bowl was Feb. 5th. Would they raise the price?

Super Bowl Sunday rolled around I went to Best Buy and sure enough, $350 for the phone. Thanks once again for nothing at all.

  2. Let me start by saying that I was once a Sprint customer and have since moved on to Cingular which for the most part I am pretty satisfied with. This was made possible with the help of a crafty salesman and the fact that I was in the military at the time “on orders”. Unfortunately I am afraid to say that this is the only acception to the cancellation fee because once you enter a contract with Sprint you will not be allowed to ask questions or have suggestions, you will not be treated fairly and you will definately not be allowed to leave our service unless you pay a large sum of money to the cell phone mafia.

On to the pricing plans, has Sprint taken a look at their competition lately. Plan prices are down way below your prices and guess what some people even let you carry over your unused minutes. I am sure that with the obvious communication channels established at Sprint that they are on this and actually way ahead of the game. They are just waiting until next years Super Bowl to release the new plan prices. I will say that paying a Sprint bill using a quarter of my monthly earnings had it’s perks. For the most part I had good reception in most cities and heavily traveled areas with only a few problems, but when I had a problem look out. It might take three or four days to fix if you try to handle this by phone. When you are on a two hour recall 24/7 in the military this poses a problem to your boss. While we are on the subject let us talk about Sprint’s automated phone service. “I’m sorry I did not understand, please say….” If this is as good as it gets you might want to reconsider just allowing your customers to push the little buttons with the numbers on them. I can’t help but thinking that the reason automated sally can’t understand you because your service is cutting in and out. Oh and if you do get through, good luck, cause your call has been routed to mars. Lastly if you should happen to have no other choice but to go into a Sprint store to resolve the problem here are some guidlines. Take a number (which will be about 50 away from the current “now serving #”), pick a spot which will keep you safe from the angry people that are back after their number got passed yesterday and breathe deeply cause you might get called today.

  3. Every time I go into that stupid sprint store, whether its for a car charger, or to get my phone fixed, it’s a half day ordeal at least. They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. The employees have no sense of urgency, and don’t really seem to care if you get the solution to whatever problem it is that you have. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least ten times that I have experienced, or have been with friends that have experienced horrible customer service at the sprint store. Sprint Sucks!!!

  4. I called *2 today, and after entering my phone number 3 times and navigating through a half dozen menus, I was finally put on hold. Ten minutes later, the system randomly hung up on me and I had to do the whole thing over again. Dammit, I hate *2.
