Track your Fantasy Football Team from your Phone

All you fantasy football junkies can now get your real-time statistics, text alerts with official NFL injury reports and scoring, manage your team while away from your desktop, and many more updates, says Sprints Press Release Department.

Sprint has team with NFL and NFL.com to create NFL Mobile and NFL.com Fantasy Companion which are made for mobile applications and exclusively for Sprint customers. You can customize the mobile companion to your Fantasy Football needs and track all the information that is applicable to you.

Sprint claims that the stats are updated “within two seconds of game action” which makes them the fastest update and delivery of NFL information for fans and fantasy players. Now you and I both know that our Vision wireless internet doesn’t refresh that quickly but Sprint allows you to setup text messages for specific teams or players and receive text messages when the action occurs. Awesome, so there is just another charge for you to deal with, and with? text message prices increasing from 10 cents to 15 cents a message, you could easily get quite a few dollars in overages.

But the idea seems interesting and the fact that Sprint has worked with NFL and NFL.com to create a better system for Fantasy leaguers to get their stats wherever they are is great.

You download NFL Mobile by texting NFL to 7777 or if you have PCS Vision you can get it from Power Vision home and is free to those customers. Hmmmmm…….. Does that mean if you don’t have Sprint PCS Vision you not only have to pay for your dang phone and text messaging but you have to pay for the service to even allow you to recieve these text messages? If someone out there is using this we’d love your feedback on this wonderful service.

Send a Text Message From Your Web Browser

Want to avoid the 10 cent charge of sending a text message from your Sprint phone? If you feel like you’re missing out on this whole new technological wonderness called text messaging that everyone in America seems to be engaging in under the age of 25 then you’re in luck.

You can forgo all those ridiculous charges that Sprint charges you for using their sprint services over and above your phone service contract by heading over to your browser and visiting sprintusers.com and their text messaging application.

All you need to do is put in the phone number of the person you want to text message, then put in your phone number, and then put in your message. You can use it to text message any other service, the only problem is you need to know what service the person you are texting has. That can be a drawback if you don’t hangout with the person much. But if that’s the case maybe you should call them and catch up.

New Sprint Phones Don’t Give You an Option

Do you have friends who are text crazy. They’ll text you that they just had the greatest shower ever, or that their cousin’s best friend just bought the most wonderful new gadget. No regards for you or your phone bill.

Chances are they have a phone that doesn’t open text messages automatically. It used to be, with my Sanyo 8100 that I would get notified that I had text messages in my inbox. I could then choose to open the messages or not, depending on if I wanted to spend the extra $0.10 on that persons wonderful emergency message about their dogs new coat. Those were the days of fair text messaging.

Well those days are long gone for sprint users. Now with my “upgraded” Sanyo VI-2300 I know receive text messages and automatically have them open within my phone. No option, no polite asking is done, just open and display and charge my account the extra 10 cents. I hope there is a way to turn this money making scheme off but I highly doubt it. Sprint likes to sneak charges in and then give you the run around about answering why it is they are charging you with horrible overages.

I guess I have no choice but to pay the extra $5 or whatever it is and add text messaging capabilities to my wonderful bag of technology tricks. Anyone else have a better idea?

Text Message from 4444 – SprintFreeMsg

Sprint is at it again. For those of you who have gotten the call from 866-463-3017 which turns out to be sprint soliciting their own crap you’ve probably had enough right there. Some people have reported that they’ve called back and said to put their number on the do not call list for sprint (good luck with that working). But they’re at it again.

I received a text message at 5:50 am from those sprint punks telling me there are free demo games available from them for download. For one thing, I don’t even download things from my phone which they should know since they keep track of all my information. Even if I get angry with them on the phone. Thanks.

Do I really need to be told this from those guys? I think not. Just another reason sprint sucks.
