Sprint Replaced My Phone

Who new sprint was doing this!?!

I walked right into a sprint store after my MotoQ 9c had a screen go blank and 1 hour later got a new phone. Actually it wasn’t that easy, but much easier than my last sprint phones that have gone down.

While on vacation the screen on my MotoQ 9c went blank. Everything else worked, except the screen. I could feel the thing vibrate indicating I was getting email, it would turn on, and very very very faintly I could see the home screen, if I was in the light.

So I went to the first store. They said, sorry we’re not a service center, but if you take it to the service center at XYZ Sprint Store, they’ll be able to either fix it or replace it. Great, gotta pay $500 for a new phone I thought. Nope, the rep told me it would be between $25 and $50.

So I called around, and had to speak to a few supervisors, and sure enough, 3 calls later, I found a guy who said, no problem, we’ll just replace it with an in-store phone if we don’t have a direct replacement.

Sure enough, $50.

So the story is, take your phone to a service center, ask for a supervisor, and hope that the phone gets replaced….

Does Sprint Really Care?

Sprint has a new website dedicated to finding out how they did to help their customers out.

Do they really care? Do they have anyone reading this and responding to how they did? It seems like a pretty good tactic to allow people to feel like Sprint is actually doing something with their service. You right they stunk they’ll fix it right? That’s what we’re suppossed to feel right?

Well, not sure, but you can give it a try over at www.sprintcares.com

Thanks, Sprint Sucks and Forum Coming Soon

Thanks to those of you making this the best ranting month at sprint rants yet, we are currently at over a rant a day, which I guess is a real bad thing if you’re a sprint customer. Now yes I realize that some of those are people trying to help but a rant is a rant, and Sprint still sucks.

Just to keep you all updated, we are going to make the Sprint Rant Forum Live within the next week. In it you’ll find fellow ranters, sprint representatives, and tips and more to help you move your ranting and sprint service moans to the next level.

You’ll be able to swap phones, bitch to customer service reps, figure out promos, figure out the ins and outs of sprint suckage. This and that and more.

We should have several qualified people dropping in on a regular basis to see how things are and to answer questions and you can rant and rave all you want there as well.

We’re not sure if it’s going to take off but at least it’ll be another place where people can try and figure out how to better their crappy sprint service!

Press 0 to get Through to a Sprint PCS Customer Specialist

Just a quick tip for those of you who hate trying to get through to a Sprint Representative. I guess you could call them a Sprint PCS Customer Service Specialist but I don’t think they’re too specialist.

Every time I call Sprint the representatives sound like they’re reading directly off a sheet from somewhere outside of the US. I can’t really understand what they’re saying and they answer my questions with simple “political like” answers. Very tough to get anything you’re asking for when you call. Combined with that is the fact that, as I said, YOU CAN”T UNDERSTAND THEM.

However, if you really want to try and get through to a Sprint Representative then here is a little tip. All you have to do when you call *2 is wait a little bit for the crazy lady to get done with her intro talk and then press 0. Just 0, that’s it. She’ll want some information that you can give her or not but you have to just keep pressing 0, just press 0. You’ll probably get put on hold but at least you don’t have to go through the, “Just tell me how I can help you.” Blah, blah, blah.

Just press 0 as many times as you can until you hear the wonderful Sprint hold music.

Dropped Call Credit

Recently I was using an old sprint phone which I will elaborate more about in future posts, but the phone was constantly dropping calls. It wasn’t working! I took the phone into my nearby sprint store and talked with a representative about getting a replacement phone because obviously this one wasn’t working. They tried the phone out and low and behold it worked. Once. “Nothing is wrong with your phone. Maybe you were just in a dead spot.” Maybe I wasn’t, try it again. Dropped call. Still they didn’t believe me.

Long story short. I could have gotten a new phone for $300 or deal with the dropped calls. So my phone was old, I had switched back to an old phone so I didn’t have any sprint upgrade BS credit, and I couldn’t afford a new phone. What I did find out was that I could get credit for all the dropped calls. As long as my friends and family could deal with the crappy phone calls they were about to receive I would just keep track of my phone calls in a book and get credit for all the dropped calls.

$35 and a month later I have my sprint bill paid off for the month but no one will call me back, so I am getting a new phone. Here’s all you have to do.

Dial the dreaded *2
Say dropped call credit
Following the annoying ladies voice, rinse repeat.

Do this as many times as you wish. They may tell you you’ve gone over your limit but contact a representative if you have and hour to spare and then tell them your situation. If you are like me and have a legitimate beef then you will have a bunch of repeat calls of about 1 minute. They can’t deny you that.

Let me know how it goes and leave you rant if you have one.
