As quick as I wrote about Sprint replacing my broken phone easily they’ve gone and taken the option away. Or so I’ve been told in a recent interaction with Sprint.

As you may have read, Sprint allowed me to replace an obviously defective phone. The phone in question was a Moto Q and the screen suddenly went blank on me. I took it in, and $50 later, I received a new phone. I didn’t have to have the insurance which sucks because you need to send the phone to a different location and receive it by mail. Instead, Sprint replaced it with a phone they had in-house.

Well, my phone broke again, this time due to my own causes, so obviously I was going to pay for the replacement, but then I asked about this new replacement service. Just for fun. And to my surprise, less than a year later, they’ve done away with the service. No more replacing of phones for $50.

It must be because this would allow Sprint to have too much customer service. Something that they are definitely not known for. Obviously it must be because they were losing money from it. Right? Losing money or not on the short term by replacing phones is one thing, but what about the long term effects? What about all those customers just looking for a reason to go to AT&T?

Just another thing that you can rant about as a Sprint customer.

This rant just edged out our previous long rant about Sprint still Sucking. A quick excerpt before you all head over there.

1/30/07 I received a bill for $633 (early termination fee for 3 phones & a late charge). I called Sprint customer service rep (Princess) and explained the story again. After our conversation, Princess said that the account would be closed and I would receive a statement saying a balance of 0. She also said that I could call back after 48 hrs to see if the issue was resolved.

Lot's of people receiving the call.

It seems as though, as I look at my Google referrals, that a lot of people have been receiving the call from Sprint from phone number 866-463-3017 or the 4444 sprintfreemsg text message. Both of these are annoying and waste your minutes even though they come from sprint.

I have also found a lot more resources about how much sprints sucks and been posting them here to allow readers to venture all over to find out how much sprints sucks. You can also check out my June 2006 Sprint Rants page to see what others are saying. There are also some good links that people put up linking back to their own blogs about how much sprint has been sticking it to them.

Feel free to leave a rant on our rants page and spread the word about SprintRants.com.

Being harsh but justified

OK, so maybe the title of this post is a little harsh, but if you found this page don’t you agree. I recently found a nice single page site dedicated to how much sprint sucks.

The person who developed the site went all out. You can truly feel their angst towards sprint. The site is equipped with a picture of the bill in question, a long detailed list of the interactions between accuser and sprint, as well as, get this, the audio from the phone conversations dealing with a sprint customer service representative at Harvard Collections.

Yes Sprint PCS’ collection agency contacted this guy and began calling everyday about a bill that sprint screwed up on. If you want to see what I’m talking about check out this link to my experiences with sprint. Seriously, it’s worth the phone conversations.

another waste of my time and minutes

Sprint is at it again. For those of you who have gotten the call from 866-463-3017 which turns out to be sprint soliciting their own crap you’ve probably had enough right there. Some people have reported that they’ve called back and said to put their number on the do not call list for sprint (good luck with that working). But they’re at it again.

I received a text message at 5:50 am from those sprint punks telling me there are free demo games available from them for download. For one thing, I don’t even download things from my phone which they should know since they keep track of all my information. Even if I get angry with them on the phone. Thanks.

Do I really need to be told this from those guys? I think not. Just another reason sprint sucks.

Sprint Sucks

Sprint customer service has to be a ploy to waste your minutes and increase your bill. For one thing, if you have free Sprint PCS to PCS minutes, wouldn’t you think, like I do, that calling Sprint customer service would be the same thing. I realize that they aren’t using Sprint cell phones (thank god or we’d never get through to them) but calling *2 should be the same as calling someone else that uses a sprint phone. I mean it’s Sprint for goodness sake.

Now back to sprint sucking. Most of you will notice that when you call sprint, using your own minutes of course you are put through a multitude of questions to see if Claire the wonderfully annoying person can help answer your questions. Chances are, your question is so random due to the amount that sprint sucks that you are probably unable to get a straight answer out of her so you need to be redirected to a real person via customer service.

So now you’re 5 minutes into the call and you begin you’re wait time in the Sprint “cue”, which also sucks and you wait and wait and wait until finally someone who won’t be able to answer you’re question gets on. You’ve now wasted that much more time of your minutes and the question might have been about your minutes.

Super!

In the good words of Garth Algar, Sprint “certainly does suck!”

Could Sprint start sucking even more that their billion dollar ad campaigns don’t work well enough they have to call you and bug you on your cell phone wasting your minutes!!!!!!!!

They have to call me up, waste my minutes and tell me about new plans (that’s what the call is for.)
